The couple is struggling and the parents discuss ways to help a marriage succeed with the newlyweds.

(Scene opens with Alex and his father fishing. Alex, who is not an avid fisherman, is having difficulty with his fishing reel so he is tinkering with the handle. His father is slightly amused as he watches from the corner of his eye.)

Father:          Alex, how have you and Katherine been doing? You know, it has been a while since you
                        two have come by the house to see your mother and me.

                      (Pause) know, your mother loves to see you two.

Alex:            I know dad, I am sorry about that. We have just been so busy.  But Katherine is kind of the
                      reason I wanted to talk to you.

                      (Alex, now completely frustrated starts pounding on his reel).

Father:        What’s wrong?
