The Message of The Door
Money and possessions
can not make us happy. True happiness
and fulfillment comes from the peace and joy we have in Jesus.
This abundant life is found through the cross which is the only key to
The
Door.
Sample scene setup and text of manuscript:
(SONFLOWER and SUGARFOOT are walking slowly across stage. At center stage is the framework of a window and to its side is the framework of a door. As they begin to speak, they have not yet reached the window.)
SONFLOWER: What's wrong with you, Sugarfoot? You seem kind of sad lately.
SUGARFOOT: Oh, I don't know. I have just been a little depressed lately. There really is no reason. I have everything I need to be happy, but . . . I'm not.
(As they approach the window frame, SONFLOWER peers through it at the audience.)
SONFLOWER: (Excited): Hey Sugarfoot, look at that. (Points at the window)
In there!
(SUGARFOOT comes back and stands beside SONFLOWER.)
SUGARFOOT: What is it?
SONFLOWER: Look through this window.
(SUGARFOOT looks into the window with SONFLOWER.)
Look at all those people. Now, they are having a good time.
SUGARFOOT: They're all smiling and look so . . . so . . .
SONFLOWER: Happy?
