The Message of      Nobody Told Me

Jesus loves everybody, and He cares about each of us, not just people that go to church.  Everyone needs to be told of the love and forgiveness that Jesus offers.  What a tragedy it would be for someone to say, “I would have believed that Jesus cares for me, but Nobody Told Me.”

Sample scene setup and text of manuscript:

(He pulls a McDonald’s “Happy Meal” box out of the trash and holds it up and then imitates a McDonald’s employee.)
Welcome to McDonald’s.  May I take your order, please?

(excerpted text)

PAT:  Yes, I believe I'll have a "not so Happy Meal."

SCOTT:  (He is now looking down inside the box.)  Empty!  Can you believe it? Whose kid ever eats the whole meal?  Even the pickle is gone!

PAT:  The pickle is gone?

SCOTT:  Yeah, pickle and everything.  Sick little kid ate it all.  My boy never ever finished the whole thing.

PAT:  (Surprised):  You have a boy?

SCOTT:  Sure do.  (Reflecting)  He sure does love the little toys that come in these things.  (Holds up the Happy Meal box)

PAT:  Where is he?

SCOTT:  (Shakes his head):  My wife took him with her when she left me.

(Scott puts the box down and once again digs through the trash in the can.)

PAT:  I know what you're saying, buddy. . . .
(As Pat is speaking, Scott finds a Bible tract in the trash.  He sets the can aside and begins reading the tract silently to himself.  It should be held in such a manner that it is clear to the audience that Scott is looking at a tract.)
After I lost my job for allegedly drinking too much, my wife told me she would leave me if I kept drinking.  I was going to stop . . . you know, pretty soon, but she left before I had a chance.  She took the kids with her.  (Pause)  Everything I had is gone:  my job, my house, my money, my
family . . . everything.  Nobody cares.

SCOTT:  It says here that Jesus cares.

PAT:  Jesus?

SCOTT:  Yeah, I found this little book, and it says that Jesus cares about everyone.
