OVERVIEW:

What if the devil’s (Lucifer) plans were a modern day business? How would it be run? How would he handle lying, sexual immorality in music and the Internet, improper peer pressure? How does he plan to ensnare his victims? This play illustrates what might take place in the devil’s organization. What tricks might possibly be used. The demon characters in the cast for this play have clever names that are the reverse spelling of the actual temptation or weakness.

Scene III

(As the lights come up, Brian and Andrew are seated at a computer desk, facing the audience. The boys are instant messaging with their friends as Eltbus, Laedgibon, Sufoeno and Nisrebyc slide in behind them. The boys do not realize the demons are in the room. They cannot be physically seen or heard.)

Brian:             I would not have thought it possible, but I do believe that Todd is even more lame on the instant messenger than he is in real life.

Andrew:         So which past or present homecoming queen does he think loves him now?

Brian:             (Points to the screen) Check this out. He says he got some girl’s address out of one of those sleaze chat rooms.

Andrew:         Yeah sure, I’ll bet it’s ImaCyclops@yahooooooo.com

(Andrew and Brian start laughing.)

(Spotlight comes up in another room, where Brian’s Mother is busy cleaning.)

Brian’s Mom: (Yelling so she can be heard) You boys are not doing anything you shouldn’t…are you?

Brian:              (Shouting) No ma’am.

(Mother smiles as she continues her work)

Brian’s Mom: (To herself) Such good boys.

(Lights fade on Mom)

Scene IV

(Scene opens in a clothing store. Mandy and Courtney are looking at clothes on a rack. Jana is at the other end of the store. She is also looking at clothes. Mandy picks a shirt off the rack and holds it up. Both girls look at each other and they hesitate for a second).

Mandy & Courtney: NAAHHHH.

(As Mandy hangs it back on the rack, Courtney pulls one off the rack that is much skimpier and holds it up to herself).

Courtney:      What do you think Mandy?

Mandy:          I think your mother would ground you, IF your dad didn’t kill you first.

(Eltbus, Laedgibon and Sufoenob enter. As was the case earlier, they are invisible to the girls in the store).

Sufoeno:       I know these two, Courtney and Mandy. Best friends, prolific shoppers and unfortunately, pretty good girls.

Eltbus:           (Looking into his folder). Yes, two more tough ones we have not made much headway on.

Laedgibon:  These two stick together, boss. They depend on each other to escape peer pressure. My Sexual Immorality Department has not had any better luck with these two than Sufoeno has had. They are a couple of tough nuts to crack.
